Bang Deliv

A ride-hailing, courier and errand service designed to replace WhatsApp-based ordering, with a chatbot that turns customers' everyday messages into orders.

D3 final project, Politeknik Negeri Semarang
Role
Backend developer
Team
Two people: I built the backend
Stack
Laravel, MySQL, Gemini API, Linux VPS

Context

Bang Deliv is my D3 final project. It is designed for a small delivery service that takes orders over WhatsApp, where order details get scattered across chats, admins forward each order to drivers by hand, fares aren't standardized, and conversations between customers and drivers are hard to trace.

The system moves ordering, driver assignment, tracking, chat, payment and administration into one place, with separate apps for customers and drivers and a web dashboard for the admin.

What I built

  • Built the Laravel REST API and MySQL database behind the customer app, driver app, and admin dashboard: orders, driver assignment, tracking, chat, and payments. Deployed the backend on a Linux VPS.
  • Integrated the Gemini API into the Laravel backend so the chatbot turns customers' everyday messages into JSON orders.

What the system does

  • Three services: rides (Antar Jemput), courier deliveries (Kurir) and errands (Nitip), with up to three stores in one errand order.
  • A chatbot drafts the order from a casual message: pickup and destination, or a shopping list, with an estimated fare.
  • Locations are picked on a map, and Google Maps provides the route, distance and fare estimate.
  • Order tracking with status steps, in-app chat between customer and driver, and push notifications.
  • Drivers can revise the fare; the customer accepts it, makes a counter-offer or cancels.
  • Cash on delivery or QRIS: the customer uploads proof of a QRIS payment and the driver verifies it.
  • Driver sign-up with vehicle details and ID documents, reviewed by an admin.
  • An admin dashboard for orders, drivers, customers, stores and revenue.

Architecture

Architecture of Bang DelivThe customer app, the driver app and the admin dashboard all use one Laravel REST API, deployed on a Linux VPS, for orders, driver assignment, tracking, chat and payments. The API stores data in MySQL and sends customers' chat messages to the Gemini API, which returns the order as JSON.Linux VPSCustomerappDriverappAdmindashboardLaravel REST APIOrders, driver assignment, tracking, chat, paymentsMySQLGemini APIChat message →JSON order
